The King’s Fork High School boys’ tennis team lost its first match of the year Wednesday.

The Bulldogs traveled to Smithfield High School and took a 9-0 loss. King’s Fork boasts a young team this year, but coach Andrae Riddick is excited about the enthusiasm his team has about the sport of tennis. Riddick’s goal for the season is that he wants each of his players to continue to develop his skill set and to develop his love for the sport as well.

Even though the weather wasn’t quite up to the standard for an outdoor tennis game, Riddick was able to get his players to apply the basics of tennis. King’s Fork will face Windsor High School on the road at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
