Suffolk police are seeking witnesses to a crash that claimed the life of a 29-year-old man Sunday afternoon.

Sheaquan Jemel Darden, of Suffolk, died when the SUV he was driving overturned in the 5000 block of Holland Road at 4:02 p.m. Sunday, according to a city press release. He had been ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

A female passenger was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and admitted with injuries not considered life-threatening.

The roadway was closed for several hours as police investigated.
