Lake Prince Woods offers Alzheimer’s support group
Published 9:06 pm Thursday, February 22, 2018
Lake Prince Woods senior community partners with the Alzheimer’s Association to offer a monthly Alzheimer’s support group the third Monday of every month at 3 p.m.
The group is free to the public and offers the emotional, educational and social support you need to get you through tough times with your loved ones. It is very beneficial for family members and caregivers involved with caring for a person with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia to attend support group meetings. Attending meetings can help you to feel less alone and learn that others share in your feelings, frustrations and concerns.
This support group is led by Denise Brown, director of resident services, and Precious Tillman, assisted living director for Lake Prince Woods. Family members who are growing frustrated trying to work around behaviors they don’t know how to manage are encouraged to attend the meeting.
It is not necessary to have a family member living at Lake Prince Woods in order to attend the meeting; anyone dealing with Alzheimer’s is invited to attend.
