Shirley Ann Turner Humphrey, 78, of Suffolk, passed away in her home Feb. 9, 2018, surrounded by her family. She was born in Suffolk to the late William Robert Turner Jr. and Alice Boyce Turner. Shirley is also predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Vance Humphrey; son, William Humphrey; and brother, Robert Turner. She was a homemaker and later worked as an inspector at Birdsong Peanut Co. and at Hardee’s as a hostess. Shirley was a former resident of Corapeake, N.C.

Shirley is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Harold Byrd, Alice and Lee Payne and Carolyn Sue Humphrey; son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Lucille Humphrey; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Tim Rawls officiating. Burial will follow at Cypress Chapel Christian Church Cemetery.
