Wilbur Andrews Wright Sr. went to be with the Lord on Jan. 6, 2018. He is predeceased by his parents, Michael and Annie Sue Wright Sr.; brother M. Phillip Wright Jr.; sister, Ann Wright Piland; son, Michael Thomas Wright; and grandsons, Adam and Chad Wright.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Carter Wright, of Suffolk; son, Andy Wright (Kim), of Suffolk; daughter, Linda Duke (John), of Suffolk; and grandson, Erik Wright, of Suffolk.

Wilbur was a retired farmer and worked at Brandon House. He served in the Virginia National Guard. He was a member of First Baptist Church and loved fishing, working with computers and fixing things with his free time. Wilbur had a technological and engineering mind.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., with Dr. Thurman R. Hayes Jr. and the Rev. David Edgell officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at Holly Lawn Cemetery, 1525 N. Main St., Suffolk, VA 23434.
