The Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority has extended the deadline to adopt a child for Christmas from its Angel Tree due to a large number of children that remain on the tree.
“Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority has a large number of angels on the tree that have yet to be adopted by gracious donors,” Resident Services Specialist Phyllis Harrison wrote in an email on Thursday.
The deadline to adopt an angel has been extended until 5 p.m. Monday.
Children up to 17 years old have listed specific wishes ranging from clothing to toys, but donors can purchase any age-appropriate gift, Harrison wrote.
According to Harrison, gifts will be distributed at SHRA at 530 E. Pinner St. from noon to 3 p.m. on Dec. 20.
Donors can come to 530 E. Pinner St. to adopt an angel. Call 539-2100 for more information.
