Following are this week’s nominees for the Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:

• Datron Branch, junior, Nansemond River High School football: Branch returned a fumble for 84 yards for a touchdown in the Warriors’ state semifinal game.
• Jaden Freeman, freshman, Nansemond-Suffolk Academy basketball: Freeman scored the game-winning bucket to go along with 11 points in the Saints’ win over Norfolk Collegiate.
• James Hatton, senior, King’s Fork High School basketball: Hatton scored 24 in the Bulldogs’ win over Hickory High School.
• Clint Wright Jr., sophomore, Lakeland High School basketball: Wright scored a team high 18 in the Cavs win over Grassfield High School.
