Woman charged after hitting police car

A woman was charged Wednesday after police say she struck an unmarked Chesapeake police car on Route 58.
Jamilah Winfield, 39, is charged with driving on a suspended operator’s license, reckless driving and felony hit and run, according to Officer Kelly Elliott of the Chesapeake Police Department.
According to Elliott, the accident happened at 7:10 a.m. on Route 58 at the Interstate 664 split. The woman struck the police car and kept going, but the police unit followed the woman and pulled her over about a half mile from the accident.
There were no injuries.
