A man sought on charges of robbery and assault and battery ended the search on Thursday evening.

Davonte Lamonte Brown, 25, was wanted by the U.S. Marshals and Portsmouth Police Department, according to a press release from the U.S. Marshals. He was known to frequent the 6000 block of Brookwood Drive and also had strong ties to Portsmouth.

The warrants for his arrest were issued in September.

Brown turned himself in to the Portsmouth Police Department Thursday in part due to the media coverage, the press release stated.
