Dr. and Mrs. Linwood Morings Boone and the church family of the Corinth Chapel United Church of Christ celebrated a successful Family and Friends Day on Aug. 6.

The Rev. Ronnie Riddick, pastor of the Word of Reconciliation Worship Center of Elizabeth City, N.C., and his church family, were the special guests. Music was provided by the Rev. J.J. Ferguson Gospel Choir of the Chapel Grove United Church of Christ, Windsor. Janice Foulk and her team exceeded the church’s financial goal. The Rev. Andrew J. Boone, the associate minister of the church participated in the devotional exercise. Sylvia Lawrence served as hostess to the clergy, and professional photos were taken by Vanessa Collins and LouVersia Jackson of VersaCreation Photos, of Suffolk.

A buffet style dinner was served in the church’s fellowship hall, and an old-fashioned lawn meal with games, face sketching, pie eating contest and bounce house amused the young and young at heart.
