Virginia Alice Faulk

Softly and tenderly Jesus called Virginia Alice Faulk to be with him on Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at Lake Prince Woods.

She was the daughter of the late Deacon John E. Faulk and Elmira Jordan Faulk. She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Virginia retired from Planters Peanut, now known has Kraft Food with more than 40 years of service. She was also employed as a custodian by Angus I. Hines for more than 30 years. Virginia did domestic work for Harry and Mae Pettit family for more than 50 years.

She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Street for 93 years and was the Church Mother. She was member of several choirs and clubs and former church custodian.

Cherishing her memories are her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Kevin Brown of the home; grandchildren, Ricardo Faulk, Walter Faulk (Chiquita), Antione Saunders (Katrina Almond), all of Suffolk, and Santiera Brown Yearling (George) of Chesapeake; goddaughter, Claire and Bobby Williams of Suffolk; and extended family, cousins and friends.

Ms. Faulk’s visitation will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home. A funeral will take place at noon Wednesday at First Baptist Church Mahan Street, and she will be laid to rest at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
