The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control has opened its fifth store in Suffolk, located at 1457 N. Main St. in the Suffolk Shopping Center.
A grand opening ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday.
Virginia ABC Commissioner Judy Napier will have special remarks at the event, which will include store staff and special guests participating in a ribbon cutting, informational store tours and refreshments.
The first 25 customers will receive a gift.
“This is Virginia ABC’s 367th store,” Napier said. “The agency’s continued retail expansion shows its commitment to excellent customer service. We are excited to provide more opportunities for patrons to responsibly enjoy the thousands of products offered in stores and online.”
The new Suffolk store measures 1,500 square feet and will include a selection of approximately 580 items, including 140 vodkas, 80 bourbons, 80 brandies, 55 gins and 24 tequilas.
The store manager may alter the store’s product assortment to accommodate local preferences.
The store will be open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday with six employees.
