Allfirst grants three scholarships

Allfirst LLC has announced the recipients of the second annual Allfirst Memorial Scholarship.

To be considered for the $500 scholarships, an applicant must be an employee or employee’s family member; have declared intention to pursue or continue a college degree or accredited trade school certification; be a senior in one Virginia’s public high schools or enrolled in an accredited college, university or trade school certification program; demonstrate involvement in either school and community activities, or verification of employment; and submit an essay of no more than 500 words explaining how receiving the scholarship will impact the recipient and the community.

This year, the company granted three scholarships. The recipients are AnMarie Evans, daughter of Dave and Mary Evans; Katherine Cospelich, sister of Ashley Blalock; and Kiley Bartholomew, sister of Coty Bartholomew.

Evans attends Old Dominion University and is majoring in interdisciplinary studies with a concentration in primary/elementary education. She is a member of the Student Council Association and Future Educators Association.

Cospelich attends Penn Foster and is studying to become a veterinary technician. She graduated from Radford University in 2013 and majored in sports medicine. She originally wanted to go into the physical therapy field, but realized after doing an internship that wasn’t where her passion lay. She would like to specialize in animal physical therapy.

Bartholomew attends James Madison University and is majoring in kinesiology, exercise science and pre-physical therapy. She has been wait-listed at Lynchburg College Graduate School of Physical Therapy. She would like to specialize in women’s health and veteran’s care.
