Former King’s Fork High School football standout Deshaun Wethington had a solid first year at Towson University and could be in line for more work.
Wethington, the all-time leading rusher at King’s Fork, is heading into his sophomore campaign after a freshman year in which he saw a good amount of work. The Towson Tiger finished his freshman season with 75 carries for 453 yards and one touchdown. His rushing yards put him at second on the team, and his attempts were third and left him with roughly 44.3 yards a game.
In his second year, Wethington could see more time. The former Bulldog standout has shown he is capable of producing at the college level when the ball is in his hands. Wethington, also known as “Debo,” had a career game against Dartmouth to this point in his college career. With 27 carries, he ran for 145 yards and scored his only touchdown of the season. Performances like that show what he is capable of producing.
In his time at King’s Fork, Wethington finished his career with 5,907 rushing yards and 73 touchdowns, all of which are school records. He was also a three-star recruit in his time at King’s Fork. He was also an all-state, all-conference and all-region performer.
