Two killed in Godwin Bridge crash

Two men were killed in a multi-vehicle accident on the Godwin Bridge Sunday afternoon.

Three additional adults, two men and a woman, were taken to a hospital, with one listed in critical condition and the other two listed in serious condition, according to Suffolk spokeswoman Diana Klink.

The accident took place at 3:05 p.m. and involved three passenger vehicles and a pickup truck, Klink stated in a press release.

The Godwin Bridge was closed, and at 7:10 p.m., Klink stated in an email that it was likely to remain closed for “several more hours.”

Suffolk Public Works crews have set up detours.

The cause of the accident is under investigation, Klink stated. None of the victims’ identities have yet been released.
