The Suffolk Police Department will hold an open house and recruiting event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 24, at Suffolk Police Precinct II, 3903 Bridge Road.
The event is open to the public, and various police department equipment and vehicles will be on display. Officers will be on hand to distribute recruiting literature.
Attendees will receive in-depth information regarding the department’s background and hiring process. Requirements and benefits for the position of a police officer and other positions within the department — such as dispatchers, animal control officers and forensic technicians — will also be discussed.
Those who are considering a career in law enforcement, especially with the Suffolk Police Department, should consider attending in order to receive as much information as possible on the department and law enforcement in general.
The event is not limited to those considering a career in law enforcement. Those who wish to learn about the youth programs and volunteer and internship opportunities offered by SPD are encouraged to attend as well.
