The Suffolk Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office will hold its sixth annual forensics camp this summer, and Suffolk students ages 12 to 15 are invited to apply.

The camp is a one-week, half-day program designed to teach students about the study of forensics through criminal law. Young people will get the chance to learn about and practice observation, photography, evidence collection, preservation and testimony in court. The class will be taught by forensics experts and assistant commonwealth’s attorneys.

Students will learn about the basics of forensic science, hear from prosecutors about how they use forensic evidence in trials and investigate their own mock crime scenes. They will also learn about the various jobs involved in forensics, from collecting evidence at the crime scene to testing it in the laboratory.
