Player of the Week Nominees

Following are this week’s nominees for the Duke Automotive-Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:

David Wright, senior, Nansemond River High School soccer: Wright had a solid game at goalie, holding No. 1 Kecoughtan High School scoreless. He also had two saves in the penalty kicks to help secure the PenSouth championship.

Mackenzie Johnson, freshman, Lakeland High School soccer: Johnson had two goals for the Lady Cavs in their 8-0 shut out against I.C. Norcom.

Isabella Gay, sophomore, King’s Fork High School softball: Gay went 3-of-4 with two RBIs and one run in the Lady Bulldogs’ 9-0 conference tournament win over Deep Creek High School.
