Nansemond-Suffolk Academy’s baseball team was defeated by Greenbrier Christian Academy at home Thursday afternoon.
NSA suffered its third loss in a 6-4 loss to GCA. In the first two innings, NSA look to have complete control. They were up 4-1 going into the third inning. Strong fifth and sixth innings by GCA helped them push forward for the win.
NSA did have opportunities to take the win but was unable to get it done. Four different Saints shared pitching duties Thursday afternoon. Caden Anselm pitched the most innings with four. James Mullin, Kieran Conway and Spence Salmon were the others who saw pitching action.
Zac Morris went 2-3 with one run. Nic Psimas went 1-3 with a run and RBI.
The loss puts the Saints at 10-6 with a 4-3 record in TCIS Conference play. NSA will face Portsmouth Christian School at home Saturday at 1 p.m. It is also senior day for the Saints. With this being the last home game of the regular season, the Saints are hoping to get back in the win column. NSA was ranked sixth this week in the VISAA Division II poll.
