Stephen Davis Jr.

Stephen Davis Jr., 62, affectionately known as “Junnie,” passed away on Feb. 24, 2017. He was born April 2, 1954, to the late Emily Gathers Davis and Stephen Davis Sr.

A native of Suffolk, Stephen attended John F. Kennedy High School and retired from Norfolk Naval Base due to his health.

His artistic gift and ability of drawing and graphic designing allowed him to showcase his talent with photo sketches and artwork on vans and buses.

At an early age, Stephen joined New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries Church and later joined Word for Living Church.

He was preceded in death by both his parents; two sisters, Vernice McCullough and Rebecca Jordan; and brother, Stormy Davis.

Junnie leaves behind to cherish his memory his sister, Patricia Holliman (Elder Reginald Holliman Sr.); adopted sister, Sarah Bellamy; godson, Bernell Sherrod Jr.; sister-in-law, Shirley Davis; and one great-aunt, 11 aunts, three uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Davis’ visitation will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 3, at T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will take place at noon Saturday at New Mt. Joy Food for Living Ministries Church. He will be laid to rest at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
