The King’s Fork boys’ basketball team took on Wilson High School Friday night in a Conference 17 matchup that saw the Bulldogs get a win on the road.
King’s Fork grabbed a 68-45 win over Wilson.
It was the Bulldogs’ first game after taking a bad loss to Lake Taylor. The Bulldogs didn’t waste any time jumping out to a lead against Wilson.
After the first quarter, King’s Fork built a 15-point lead. From there they continued to pour it on to go up by as many as 25 at the end of the first half. In the second half the Bulldogs were able to maintain their pace. They also were able to get everybody on the bench involved.
“It was a good showing, since we had been off for a week,” Bulldogs coach Josh Worrell said. “The kids came out with some good effort and good emotion. They were excited to play again. This next stretch we are coming up on is very important, so it gave them time to refresh and refocus.”
James Hatton led the way with 17 points and four steals for the Bulldogs. Raemaad Wright added 13 points and 16 rebounds.
“This next stretch is important in how we position ourselves for the playoffs,” Worrell said. “Hopefully we can take some of that momentum into next week.”
“We played a good competitive game,” Wright said. “We came out and played hard defense from the start of the game that allowed us to go up early. After that, we kept our foot on the gas and didn’t let up.”
King’s Fork will face Churchland at home Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
