Brian Atwood, propane operations manager of Parker Oil and Propane, recently assisted Nansemond-Suffolk Academy in securing two $500 grants from the ExxonMobil Corp. Educational Alliance Program.
The grants will be applied to the NSA Annual Fund, which supports the school’s overall mission and educational programs.
“Nansemond-Suffolk Academy was one of four schools in the western Tidewater area to receive these wonderful grants,” Atwood stated in a press release.
“For the past seven years, Parker Oil and Propane has supported NSA, because we value NSA’s work in the areas of math and science education. We are pleased to give back and support our local community.”
Nansemond-Suffolk Academy’s head of school, Deborah Russell, said, “NSA takes great pride in our math and science program. In the last two years, we enhanced our science, technology, engineering and math curriculum for students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade, launched a state-of-the-art STEM Innovation Lab to provide a hands-on STEM learning environment for our students and hosted five weeks of summer camp dedicated to STEM and innovation.”
We are truly grateful for the support of the ExxonMobil Educational Alliance and Parker Oil & Propane,” she added.
