Two students at Lakeland High School have been suspended after a report of a student with a gun.
On Monday, a member of the Lakeland administration notified the School Resource Officer that they had been made aware of a report of a student with a gun in school the previous week, according to city spokeswoman Diana Klink.
Preliminary investigation found a 15-year-old male student had brought a replica firearm to school on Friday. No students were threatened, Klink said.
Suffolk Public Schools spokeswoman Bethanne Bradshaw said two students have been suspended with recommendations for expulsion.
