All of Suffolk’s teams volleyball teams got wins Thursday evening.
King’s Fork’s volleyball teams swept Wilson at home. After both teams swept their home games against Lake Taylor earlier on the week, both teams went a total of 4-0 for the first time this year.
“We played as a team; that’s all I could ask for,” the Lady Bulldogs’ Cydney Nichols said. “We played well. Everybody brought something to the table.”
Also, for the first time this year, the Bulldogs boys’ volleyball team won two games in a row. The arrow is continuing to point up, and the Bulldogs will continue to try to string wins together in this last part of the regular season.
Both teams play again Thursday at home against Churchland High School, another Conference 17 opponent. Girls play at 5:30 p.m., and the boys will follow.
The Lady Warriors went on the road Thursday evening and got a road win against Conference 10 opponent Hampton High School in four sets. The win makes the second in a row for Nansemond River after they defeated Bethel High School Tuesday evening.
The Lady Warriors return home at 5 p.m. Monday against Warwick High School. The girls play at 5 p.m., followed by the boys.
Lakeland High School’s volleyball teams swept Phoebus High School at home. Both teams won in three sets. The Lady Cavs regrouped after a home loss to I.C. Norcom Tuesday evening. After a win by forfeit Tuesday night, the Cavs didn’t look to have any rust in their game against the Phantoms Thursday evening.
“The boys played well and had fun,” Cavs coach Tarijuana Napoleon said. “I allowed them to work on their jump serving and running a few plays.”
