The Lakeland High School Lady Cavs hit the field Tuesday afternoon to play Poquoson and lost 5-1.
Their only goal came from Maakayla Snyder. The Lady Cavs believe the score did not reflect how well they played throughout the game.
“I think we played a good game,” Lady Cavs field hockey player Sydney Beale said. “I think sometimes losing helps us work on the things we lack and get better at them.”
“We played well together as a team; we just couldn’t finish in the circle, and they did,” Lady Cavs center-mid Kendall Lewis said. “I think we can improve by spreading the field out making more connecting passes and finishing in the circle.”
Next for LHS field hockey team is a game at Heritage High School in Newport News at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 17. Also, they will play the following day at home against Bethel High School at 5:15 p.m.
