One dead after shooting

Suffolk police are investigating a shooting that left a male victim dead Wednesday evening.
The shooting was reported at 6:26 p.m. in the 1000 block of Nansemond Parkway at Heritage Acres Apartments, according to a city press release.
Emergency responders found the victim at East Washington Street and Bunch Avenue as he was being driven to the hospital by acquaintances. Officers and then Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel performed lifesaving measures, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the press release.
Anyone who has information is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or text the keyword SPDVATIP and the tip to 274637 (CRIMES). Tipsters never have to give their names or appear in court, and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
