Pamela O. Vines

Pamela O. Vines, 67, of Suffolk, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. Pamela was born on Nov. 22, 1948, to the late Clarence A. and Lillie B. Jackson.
She was employed by the Suffolk Police Department as the first black magistrate of the City of Suffolk. She was also employed at Nansemond Point Nursing Home, until her retirement.
She was a faithful member of Little Mount Zion Baptist Church, where she served in various ministries.
She was preceded in death by Chiner Earl Hargrove and son, Craig Hargrove.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Dana Hargrove; three grandchildren, Erick Hargrove, Jaquan Barnes and Lauryn Leonard; uncle, Bobby Jackson; aunt, Lucille Grier; devoted companion, John Newby; mother-in-law, Beatrice Hargrove; sister-in-law, Delois Hart (Fred); brother-in-law, Calvin Hargrove (Vivian); and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Ms. Vines’ visitation will take place at 9:30 a.m., and a funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the chapel of T.E. Cooke-Overton Funeral Home.
