A fiesta will take place in Suffolk this Friday as Suffolk Project Lifesaver holds its annual Project Luau fundraiser.
This year’s theme is “fiesta,” and everything from the decorations to the food — including fajitas — will reflect that, said Denise Brown, a board member with Project Lifesaver.
“Every year, we’ve had Project Luau, and we keep changing the theme,” Brown said.
A buffet dinner with live music by Island Boy will be included, and a variety of themed baskets, ranging from a chocolate basket to a basket where everything is blue, will be featured in a silent auction.
The event will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn, 100 E. Constance Road. It begins at 6 p.m. with a complimentary wine bar and silent auction, and the dinner will begin at 7.
Tickets are on sale until noon Tuesday. Call Brown at 923-5513.

Suffolk Project Lifesaver currently has 57 clients, all of whom have some condition such as autism or Alzheimer’s that make them prone to wandering. The program outfits clients with transmitters that allow them to be tracked by special equipment kept at each fire station in the case of a wandering incident.
“There’s no fee for folks that are in the program because of these fundraisers that we do,” Brown said.
She added that the program is currently accepting new clients. Those who want more information on being a client can call Mason Copeland at 754-8787.
