Rendy Veal, 75, of Suffolk, died Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at Sentara Obici Hospital. She was a native of Nansemond County and the daughter of the late James Chapman and Geneva Lloyd. She was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Veal; two brothers, Willie Chapman and Lewis Chapman.

She retired from the City of Portsmouth as a supervisor. She was a member of Greater Faith Worship Center, where she was a member of the Missionary Board and the mother of the church.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Renee Boone (Alan) and Yvonne Moore (Michael), both of Suffolk; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Rosa Silvers (Wardell), Luetta Johnson (Charles), Loretta Simmons and Alice Mitchell (William), all of Suffolk; three brothers, Edward Chapman, of Syracuse, N.Y., Henry Chapman (Darlene), of Suffolk, Hurley Chapman, of Newport News; sister-in-law, Mary Lee Chapman, of Suffolk; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Tabernacle Baptist Outreach Center, eulogy by Elder Nathaniel Thomas, Trevon Boone is pastor. Interment will be held at Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, April 26 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
