Columbia Gas of Virginia has announced a 7.5-percent reduction in total customer bills. The proposed prices take effect with customer bills being mailed this week.
An average residential monthly bill under the new rates will be $101.83, compared to the former total monthly bill of $110.11, based on a seasonal usage of 10,000 cubic feet of gas.
“The tangible benefits from the ongoing availability of abundant domestic natural gas production is clearly reflected in the lower costs our customers pay for their monthly service,” said Brent Archer, Columbia’s president.
“This gas cost adjustment continues the trend of historically low natural gas costs, and that is good news for our residential, commercial and industrial customers.”
