Debi De Forest of Orange Beach, Ala., announces the engagement of her daughter, Alyssa De Forest, to Brandon Shoemaker, both of Suffolk.

Alyssa De Forest attended King’s Fork High School and Fortis College. She is a dental assistant at Hearne Orthodontics.

Brandon Shoemaker attended King’s Fork High School and is a pipefitter at Norfolk Naval Shipyard.

The couple will wed Oct. 15, 2016, at the Izaak Walton League in Chesapeake.
