The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls’ and boys’ swimming teams competed in an event earlier in January against Norfolk Collegiate School and Peninsula Catholic High School, yielding a variety of NSA individual and relay winners.
The Lady Saints pulled off Nansemond-Suffolk’s lone team win on Jan. 8, defeating Peninsula Catholic 487-259.
Saints senior David Forman was a winner in four different events on the day. He took first in the boys’ 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:59.34, and he won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.92 seconds.
He helped NSA win the 200-yard freestyle relay, along with senior Matt Minter, junior Cameron Bruce and freshman Nic Psimas. They produced a time of 1:42.52.
Forman, Minter, Bruce and Psimas won the 400 free relay by default, forming the only team to compete in that event, finishing in 3:56.51.
Bruce won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:41.78, Psimas won the 50-yard freestyle by finishing in 24.44 seconds and Minter took first in the 100-yard backstroke with a 1:11.26 time.
Lady Saints sophomore Madi Wilson claimed the spot in the girls’ 50-yard freestyle with a time of 27.73 seconds, and her combined efforts with sophomore Tori Psimas, freshman Bridget McKneely and eighth-grader Danae Martin helped NSA win the girls’ 400 free relay. The team finished in four minutes, 39.75 seconds.
Nansemond-Suffolk is scheduled to take on Hampton Roads Academy on Wednesday.
