A 56-year-old man died Tuesday of injuries he suffered during a crash on Dec. 27.

Charlie James Bell succumbed to injuries that were deemed life-threatening at the time of the crash.

The accident happened on Route 58 westbound near the Virginia Department of Transportation Weigh Station about 3:33 a.m. that Sunday morning.

Bell’s Nissan Xterra left the roadway and struck a jersey wall. He was ejected from the vehicle. He was the only occupant.
