Benjamin Jackson Holland, 103, departed this life Jan. 7, 2016.

A native of Suffolk, he was the widower of Naomi Copeland Holland.

A member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, he had an infectious community spirit. The Inspirational Group Home Visits to the sick and shut in and singing were just some of the activities he happily shared with others.

Survivors include a brother, James Darden, of Hampton, several nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and a host of family and friends.

His service will be conducted at noon on Friday, Jan. 15, with viewing beginning at 11 a.m. in the church. The Rev. W.L. Lang, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Forrest Brothers Funeral Home, Hudgins, is in charge of the arrangements.
