On Dec. 3, 2015, God called home one of his heavenly angels, Evangelist Dorothy R. Eley, at Autumn Care Nursing Home. She was born on Dec. 3, 1923, in Nansemond County to the late Pete Baker and Annie Eley.

She was a lifelong member of Faith Temple Ministries Apostolic Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Deaconess Shelia McIlwaine (Sylvester); one granddaughter, Leading Lady Sheranda Y. Outlaw (Chief Apostle Bishop Brian E. Outlaw Sr.); and a host of other relatives.

Ms. Eley’s visitation will take place from noon to 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at the funeral home. The family will receive visitors at 505 Cedar Court at all other times. A celebration of life service will take place at noon Saturday, Dec. 12, at Faith Temple Ministries Apostolic Church by eulogist Suffragan Bishop Madison Copeland and Pastor Troy Ruffin officiating.
