After advancing to the conference tournament championship, the Lakeland High School girls’ volleyball team fell in straight sets to Tabb High School on Wednesday — 13-25, 7-25, 10-25.

Despite the loss, Meagan Patterson of the Lady Cavaliers contributed 10 digs and Kayla Barnes registered five aces and two kills.

Lakeland set up its meeting with Tabb in the title match by defeating Phoebus High School in the conference tournament semifinals on Tuesday, 25-19, 25-18, 25-19.

The Lady Cavaliers’ producers on offense included Mariah Pope with five kills and Makayla Byrum, Madison Davis, DeMari Turner and Barnes with three kills apiece. Patterson recorded five digs.

Lakeland (7-13) begins regional play on Monday in Hampton.
