Deacon Jerone Robertson was named “Man of the Year” during the Mount Sinai Baptist Church Men’s Day celebration on Oct. 18, having been voted upon by the men of the church.

Joined by his family, an emotional Robertson thanked the church for the honor, and gave special recognition to the men for the love and support they showed to him and to one another.

In addition to Robertson’s award, the featured guests were the Rev. Randy F. Skeeter and his congregation, New Ramoth Gilead Baptist Church, of Elizabeth City, N.C. In a message titled, “I’ve Got You Covered,” Skeeter explained that the book of Psalm 91 tells us, “God will give you confidence, assurance, promise and protection.”

Men’s Day is sponsored annually by the church’s Christian Men’s Fellowship Ministry, in which Deacon James O. Daye is president. Mount Sinai Baptist Church is located at 6100 Holy Neck Road. The Rev. William L. Lang is pastor.
