Player of the Week nominees

Following are this week’s nominees for the Duke Automotive-Suffolk News-Herald Player of the Week:
- Larry Goodman, senior for Nansemond River High School football: He made key contributions to the Warriors’ offensive attack on Friday night, helping them blow out host King’s Fork High School 42-6. While five different Warriors scored touchdowns, he was the only one with two. He ran for a two-yard score to make it 21-6 in the second quarter and a 32-yard score in the fourth to cap the night’s scoring.
- Logan Harrell, junior for Nansemond-Suffolk Academy volleyball: She made outstanding contributions to the Lady Saints’ 2-0 week. In Tuesday’s 3-2 home win over Norfolk Academy, she had five aces and 46 digs, the most by an NSA player in a single match since stat-keeping began six years ago. In Thursday’s 3-0 home win over Cape Henry Collegiate School, she had 26 digs, three aces and two kills.
- Hunter Rawls, sophomore for Lakeland High School volleyball: He was a key force in Lakeland’s 3-0 week. In Thursday’s 3-0 home win against Denbigh High School, he had 10 kills to go with two blocks. In Monday’s 3-0 road win against Booker T. Washington High School, he contributed five kills and three aces. In Tuesday’s 3-0 win at Denbigh, he had three kills, three blocks and three aces.
