To the editor:

Thanks to those persons responsible for the new trail in Driver. The trail extends from Kings Fork Road to Shoulder Hill Road, about 2.6 miles. This trail is welcomed by a large part of the community, and again I say thanks.

There is an issue to consider, though. The trail is there for all to use, including animal lovers, but not as the outhouse for those letting their animals relieve themselves without cleaning it up. Pet owners have a responsibility to clean after their pets, but it appears that is not being done on the trail.

Now other users must pay attention to where they step or ride to avoid stepping or rolling into animal waste left by those irresponsible pet owners.
