Our beloved husband, father, son and friend, Trooper Nathan-Michael W. Smith, 27, entered his eternal rest quietly and peacefully the morning of Sept. 21, 2015, doing what he loved.

A native of Suffolk, he was born on Dec. 6, 1987, to Sandra L. Smith and Nathan W. Smith.

Nathan-Michael’s precious memories will linger in the heart of his loving wife of four years, Jennifer Robinson Smith. He leaves to cherish his memory and legacy his two children, Nathan-Michael W. Smith II and Zoe Claire Smith; his devoted parents, Sandra L. Smith, of Smithfield, and Nathan W. Smith and his wife, Terry “Mama Terry,” of Chesapeake; his devoted siblings, Ariel T. Smith, of Richmond, Bryson M. Smith, of Chesapeake, and Nikkia McCalla, of Maryland. His humor will be remembered by his paternal grandmother, Joyce C. Carney (Ben), of Newport News, and maternal grandmother, Helen C. Ashburn, of Portsmouth; paternal great-grandfather, James R. Bagner Jr. (Louise) and Emanuel Smith, of Suffolk; godparents, Ernest and Annie Reid.   A servant and humanitarian by nature, Trooper Nathan-Michael Smith will be missed.

Remains rest at Scott’s Funeral Home, 115 E. Brookland Blvd., Richmond. After 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25, his remains will rest in St. Paul’s Baptist Church, 4247 Creighton Road, Richmond, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 pm. and where funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jamie Duncan officiating. Interment will be held at the Roselawn Memory Gardens.
