Virginia Episcopal School’s field hockey team came to Nansemond-Suffolk Academy on Friday afternoon and left with a 5-3 victory over the Lady Saints.
Like Cape Henry Collegiate School, which defeated the Lady Saints 6-1 on Sept. 9, the Lady Bishops are one of the more challenging teams NSA will face this season.
“I feel like we played really well,” Nansemond-Suffolk assistant coach Pannill Titus said.
Virginia Episcopal led 3-2 at the half, but the Lady Saints tied things up in the second half off of a goal by sophomore Morgan Morrell, who was assisted by sophomore Paige McCauley.
NSA’s first half goals came from junior Paige Christiansen and freshman Sam Williams. Both goals were assisted by freshman Lauren Meyers.
Lady Saints freshman goalkeeper Sarah Christiansen had seven saves.
Nansemond-Suffolk (3-2-1) hosts Southampton High School on Tuesday.
