TowneBank’s new member service center will be opened to the public for the first time during an event on Sept. 10.
The Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce event will feature wine and beer tasting, food, photo booths, live music and more.
“We are very thankful for our member TowneBank who is generously opening their facility to the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce as we host our first ever mingle at Towne Bank,” said Alisa Crider, Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce manager of communications and marketing. “(It’s) fun, laid-back networking.”
“I think it’s great because it’s an easy way to get out and meet people,” said Valarie Ballinger, Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce coordinator of events.
The event is open to members and non-members. Local businesses also have the opportunity to host tables where they can talk to guests about their business.
“(There’s) a really wide range of different businesses and organizations,” Ballinger said on the list of vendors attending. She listed a moving company and a security company as some examples of the businesses already signed up to attend.
The event lasts from 5 to 7 p.m. Mingle participants who arrive at the event before 5:30 will have the opportunity to win a free entrance into the sand kickball tournament at their annual Beach Bash at Neptune Park on Sept. 17. The prize covers the traditional $350 a team would typically pay to play.
The organization likes to host events in all of the five cities of Hampton Roads, Crider said. The chamber has held several mingle events in downtown Suffolk.
Along with wines and beers, finger foods from restaurants in the area will be served throughout the evening. A local band will be performing as well. Pretty Ugly plays a variety of alternative and Indie-pop style music, Crider said.
