Grand jury indicts 43

Two men have been indicted in an April shooting that injured a 23-year-old Portsmouth man.
Jonquil Lamont Baker and Aaron Alonzo Wright are charged with attempted malicious wounding, assault by mob and an assortment of other charges in the incident.
They were two of 43 defendants indicted on 144 charges by the grand jury last week.
The Portsmouth man told police he was leaving a park near the intersection of Wilson and Wellons streets early on April 12 when gunshots were fired as partygoers left the area. His injury was not deemed life-threatening.
