Earl L. Faulk

Earl L. “Uncle Earl” Faulk, 76, of 3266 Jackson Road, Suffolk, died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, at his residence.
He was a native of Nansemond County and the son of the late James Faulk and Carthene Faulk-Milteer.
He attended East Suffolk High School. He retired from Consolidated Roofing Co. Mr. Faulk was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church where he was a deacon, member of the Usher Ministry, treasurer of Usher Board, attended Sunday School, taught the men’s class for “High Attendance” Sunday and was an honorary member of GBC male chorus.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Thelma D. Faulk; daughter, Doreen Freeman of Riverside, Calif.; sisters, Odelia Hart, Louvenia White, Selena Copeland, Elsie Milteer and Mary A. Walston, all of Suffolk; step-brothers, Eugene Milteer (Doretha) and Curtis Milteer (Sarah); one grandchild, Zion Freeman; two sisters-in-law, Doris L. Folk of Suffolk and Realis E. Fisher of Philadelphia; one brother-in-law, John Fisher of Philadelphia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Gethsemane Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Ernest L. Simmons Sr. Interment will be in the Faulk Cemetery.
