The husband of a former city manager has pleaded guilty to a charge of filing a false police report.
Keith Rodney Glenn received a sentence of 30 days in jail, all of it suspended. He will be on unsupervised probation for one year. He also has already paid a $200 fine, $110 court costs and $504.90 restitution, the cost of the police investigation.
Glenn reported a hit-and-run to Suffolk police on April 30 after striking his own vehicle while driving a vehicle belonging to his wife, Selena Cuffee-Glenn, in front of their house on Kendal Way.
However, a Suffolk police officer “located a witness that observed Mr. Glenn strike his own 2009 Chevy HHR prior to police arriving while operating gray 2010 Dodge registered to Glenn’s wife,” according to a search warrant filed in Suffolk Circuit Court. “Glenn was witnessed to have struck parked 2009 Chevy HHR, he then exited 2010 Dodge pick up and observed damage and then parked 2010 Dodge in front of his garage.”
The search warrant goes on to say that Glenn “stated he called police and reported a hit/run because he was ashamed” and that he “reported the hit/run to Geico because he didn’t know how to tell them he struck his own vehicle.”
At the time, Cuffee-Glenn had already announced her acceptance of the city manager position in Richmond but was still city manager in Suffolk.
