Police investigate shooting

Suffolk police are investigating a shooting that sent one man to the hospital Thursday evening.

Emergency Communications received the call of shots fired in the 300 block of Holladay Street in downtown Suffolk at 10:17 p.m., according to a city press release. Officers located the victim nearby in the 400 block of Bank Street, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body.

The victim was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. He was identified as Aaron Lemonte Hunter, 22, of Suffolk. He remained hospitalized late Friday morning, according to a city press release.
