Suffolk police are asking members of the public for help in locating two suspects in an armed robbery.
Dispatchers received a call at 6:51 a.m. Saturday reporting an armed robbery in the 8900 block of South Quay Road, according to Suffolk Police spokeswoman Diana Klink.
The victim reportedly said that after he pulled into the service station there to change a flat, one suspect arrived as a passenger in an early 1990s two-door Honda Civic hatchback.
The victim stated that this suspect, described as a black male with a dark complexion, medium build, close-cut hair, about 25 years old, between 5 feet 10 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall, and about 170 pounds, climbed out of the car and approached him.
The victim reported the suspect asked him for money, and as the victim reached into his pocket, the suspect produced a handgun from his pocket as he asked the victim for all his money.
The victim reports the suspect got back in the car – with an undetermined amount of money, Klink stated -which fled across Route 58 northbound and down Holy Neck Road.
The driver, who is also a suspect, remained in the vehicle, and is described as a black male in a bluish-gray flat-brimmed baseball cap and a red or orange shirt.
The suspect who exited the car and pulled the gun was also described as wearing black nylon baseball shorts, a plain green T-shirt and white high-top sneakers.
The victim, who was not injured, provided this further description of the Honda: completely white with either the trim painted white or removed; a loud aftermarket exhaust; stock rims and tires; and no front license plate.
