Saints golf team starts 4-0

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy golf team improved to 4-0 this season with a narrow 194-198 victory over Cape Henry Collegiate School on Wednesday at the Cavalier Golf and Yacht Club in Virginia Beach.
The day before, the Saints routed Portsmouth Christian School 152-224 at the Elizabeth Manor Golf and Country Club. NSA junior Thomas Meyers was the medalist, shooting a two-under-par 33 during the nine-hole round.
On March 19, the Saints defeated Trinity Episcopal School 153-191 at Elizabeth Manor. Nansemond-Suffolk senior Keith Cooper and Meyers were co-medalists, each shooting two-over 37.
NSA opened the 2015 season on March 12, producing a winning score of 137 while Portsmouth Christian School shot a 186, Alliance Christian Academy shot a 195 and StoneBridge School shot a 202 on The Links at Portsmouth City Park.
Saints senior Will Comer was medalist, shooting a one-over 31.
Nansemond-Suffolk faces Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School on Tuesday at the Virginia Beach National Golf Club.
