Mr. and Mrs. George Derrick Burrus, of Suffolk, announce the engagement of their daughter, Sara Elizabeth, to Christopher Lee Szymanski, son of Mr. and Mrs. David Lynn Szymanski Sr., of Windsor.

Sara graduated from Radford University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in communication/public relations with a minor in marketing. Sara is currently employed as a relationship specialist in the Private Banking Department at TowneBank in Suffolk.

Christopher graduated from Old Dominion University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering. He is currently employed as a project engineer with Oceaneering International Inc.

The happy couple will exchange vows in May 2015. After the wedding, they will reside in Windsor.
