A fire completely consumed a home in the 3500 block of Knotts Neck Road Friday afternoon but injured no one.

The fire was reported at 1:21 p.m., and the first units arrived five minutes later. Firefighters found a two-story home with a basement garage fully engulfed in flames.

The home has been declared a total loss, according to a city press release. No one was home at the time, and it is unknown currently how many people will be displaced.

The Chuckatuck and Carrollton volunteer fire departments responded to the fire along with paid firefighters, with Carrollton using a Carrsville Volunteer Fire Department engine it’s currently using as its tanker. The Driver Volunteer Fire Department provided backfill at the station.

The fire marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.
